The Perfect Lady and Going Solo
The first film on this video is 'The Perfect Lady' which traces the history of ML 407 from 1944 to forty years on when Nick Grace completed his remarkable rebuild in 1985 and flew ML 407 with Carolyn on the maiden flight. It then shows Nick carrying on to fly ML 407's first combat pilot, Johnny Houlton DFC. The film includes some truly excellent air-to-air and archive footage. The second film is 'Going Solo' which shows Carolyn Grace coming to terms with her loss after her husband Nick Grace was tragically killed in a car accident in 1988. She learns to fly their beloved Spitfire ML 407, and then continues to do so in memory of Nick. This film again includes excellent air-to-air and in-cockpit footage.
